Welcome to The Nutrition Atlas! My mission is to bring you new and innovative perspectives on nutrition science, health, and wellness. I believe that nutritious meals should be accessible to all, and that food should bring both health and pleasure.
I received my BA in International Relations with a concentration in global health, nutrition, and the environment, as well as my MPH in nutrition, from Tufts University. While in Boston, I worked for a variety of health and nutrition-related organizations, such as the Tufts University USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, Partners in Health, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative. I moved back to California to complete my dietetic internship at Napa State Hospital, where I took a deep dive into the connection between nutrition and mental health. I now work as a clinical dietitian for the City and County of San Francisco.
I have spent hours in the lab trying to elucidate critical pathways linking obesity to inflammation and chronic disease, counseled nutrition clients from a wide variety of backgrounds on how to eat healthfully, designed and carried out nutrition program evaluations, and performed research on high functioning healthcare systems. I am fascinated by how food affects the body and mind, and passionate about personalizing nutrition to optimize health and wellness.
I hope you find The Nutrition Atlas to be a resource for insightful commentary on nutrition science and practices. Enjoy!
